PRIORITIES FOR INTERACTIVE LEARNING Our school establishes high standards for interactive learning. Our standards are reasonable for beginners, challenging for gifted minds. Students learn to meet the challenge of higher and higher standards. HOW? INTERACTIVE LEARNING Accelerated Thinking 555 is a very interactive procedure. 1.Interactive notetaking during auditory input. 2. Verbal interaction during tellbacks 3. Creative interaction during the Fast Writes. ----------------------------- INTERACTIVE FIELD TRIPS 1. Interaction with tour guides and museum exhibits. 2. Taking notes from recordings played while going to and from the destination. 3. Think Tanks during the field trip allow students to exchange viewpoints and share what they have learned. ----------------- INTERACTIVE COMPUTER SEARCHES AND WRITING. 1. Essential skills for using computers to find and rewrite answers. 2. Learn to question the interactive multiple resources. 3. Quickly assemble facts and ideas into AP quality essays. 4.. Searching our CD's with preloaded data establishes fast research skills. 5. Students use search 555 to speed discovery of multiple opinions. ------------------ INDEPENDENT STUDY WITH SEARCH 555 Students are assigned questions about a topic. Then they choose and download a dozen or more articles or books on that topic. -------------------- OUR INTERACTIVE ELECTRONIC LIBRARY Students can also download over 1000 books from our free books site. Our reformatted books allow faster reading and better comprehension... ---------------------- INTERACTIVE RESEARCH Students learn methods that speed the assembly of the CD's. Students discover new learning standards. Find recent changes in philosophies. Search by date. and create timeline outlines Find bibliography lists for additional authors with opinions about the topic. ---------------------- SUGGESTED TOPICS Students can start with the following topics: Establishing a democracy; Alternative systems; Governing alternatives; A time line for the adoption of democratic values in democratic cultures; Old culture problems; New culture possibilities and realities; Power estimates: Analyzing the use of power; Classify the motives; Predict possible activities and necessary controls. ----------------------
